Scholarships for College Students

There are a plethora of scholarships for college students available all over the internet. Some are mundane and require massive amounts of writing and personal critiquing while others are fun and upbeat, allowing students to be creative and step out of your general comfort zone. The following are a mixture of the two groups, some very serious, and others that zone in on the creative side of life. If a student is interested in pursuing a career in a medicine related field, the Tylenol scholarship may be the thing for them. Not only will it relieve you’ve financial woes; it will also relieve your headache. A student must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a two or four year college, with at least one year remaining and the intent to go into the medical field. Tylenol offers several 10,000, 5,000, and 1,000 dollar scholarships. One of the more creative scholarships that can be considered is the Jimmy Beans scholarship. The scholarship program offers six, 3,000 dollar scholarships for students that are able to crochet and knit. All a student has to do is fill out a simple application, knit something cool, take a picture, and send it in. One of the scholarships is awarded to an international student. The proofreading.com scholarship is available to any college student that is currently enrolled in a four year university or college and has twelve credit hours already completed. The student must also hold a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5. The scholarship requires the student to write a 1,500 word essay on the subject selected, including a works cited page. The Gen and Kelly Tanabe scholarship is incredibly easy to apply for. It is a merit based scholarship for high school and college age students. It is an award of 1,000 dollars. The only things that need to be done for application are typing in a personal information, and then the student must type up 250 words as to why they deserve the scholarship, what your career goals are, or any topic of your choice. The Swackhammer Disarmament Video Contest is another creative way to earn a scholarship. In order to apply, a student must make any sort of creative video that depicts what the world would look like had all of the funds allocated for nuclear weapons, during the nuclear age, instead been used to promote a better world. The video must be at least 3 minutes long. It is an interesting topic to cover, and 3, 1,000 dollar scholarships will be rewarded for the best videos. There are so many scholarships out there that go undiscovered and often times, they are the easiest to obtain. Why look at college as build up debt waiting to happen, instead of a way to earn money for getting an education? The scholarships aforementioned are only a short application from being complete.
